I've had a Zojirushi water heater for 3 years now and I love it. While it seemed expensive when I bought it, I find it is well worth the price. Near boiling water is always ready to make tea, and I've saved countless minutes of what used to be a process of filling the kettle, turning on the heat, waiting, and coming back. I use it for tea, instant oatmeal, soup, hot chocolate, apple cider, ramen and other stuff.
It is very easy to refill thanks to the removable cover and removable power cord. The cord attaches magnetically, which makes plugging and unplugging incredibly easy. There is a safety feature where you press the "unlock" button before the "dispense" button so it doesn't accidentally dispense hot water. The dispenser and locking mechanism is also very precise - not a drop of water will escape this machine when you lift your finger off of the dispenser, making it safe for kids and clutzes alike.
Also I have found this dispensing pot handy for quickly warming up bottles from the fridge, with instant hot water to immerse bottle in. My screaming baby doesn't have to wait long for her milk.
The unit is teflon coated and so it doesn't rust like some cheaper models. To get rid of calcium build-up, you can add 1/8 cup of vinegar in the water, close top, boil and pump to dispense the acidified water; rinse and use all neat and clean.
If you are in the market for a hot-pot, this is the one to buy. You can buy less expensive pots; but, you won't get the reliability and durability you would get from this exceptionally well made Zojirushi pot.
